Battersea Park Wedding

A WEDDING AT BATTERSEA PARK BANDSTAND

If you’re looking for a venue that’s outdoors, screams South East London, and where you might spot a cute dog mid vow – you’ve got to consider getting married at Battersea Park, underneath the 19th century bandstand.

Emily and Sam got married on a warm summer’s day surrounded by the ancient Battersea Park trees, celebrated with drinks at The Pump House, and partied the night away at 100 Barrington in Brixton.

BATTERSEA PARK WEDDING VENUE

Situated in the middle of Battersea Park (which has an interesting history as a duelling location in the 1800s!), is a Victorian bandstand that gets transformed with some wooden seating into a gorgeous ceremony spot.

As an approved and licensed wedding venue, you can have a registrar from Wandsworth Borough come through to marry you, saving you a trip to a town hall, and allowing you to get married outdoors.

All your guests can arrive and leave by bus, or their own transport by parking in the public parking lots. And as the bridal party; you’re given a ride on a golf buggy!

After your ceremony,  you can host drinks, or your full wedding reception at the park. You could set up a marquee on the Bowling Green or do what Emily and Sam did, and hire out the Pump House gallery.

DRINKS RECEPTION AT THE PUMP HOUSE GALLERY, BATTERSEA PARK

The Pump House gallery is a short walk away from the Bandstand, and is the perfect spot for your guests to enjoy a drink or a snack while you take family and couples photos.

You could do what Emily and Sam did, and lead your guests from one location to the other, trailing through the park.

At the Pump House Gallery, you could have a bit of fun with a signature drink (hello, Pimms in Summer), and hire a food truck like they did. Because it’s always a great time for fish & chips!

LONDON INSPIRED WEDDING RECEPTION AT 100 BARRINGTON

After their Battersea Park wedding ceremony and drinks reception, Emily and Sam got their whole wedding crew on vintage London busses and took them to 100 Barrington for their wedding reception.

They entered their reception to the largest amount of confetti I’ve ever seen, and had their speeches in the courtyard, before heading into the reception room to have an endless stream of pizza for their guests.
