WHY YOU SHOULD HIRE AN EVENT PHOTOGRAPHER

You’ve gone through the effort of coordinating a truly memorable event for your company, your team or your clients. Whether you’re celebrating another successful year in business, hosting a conference or a social – it’s worth capturing.

Event photography not only creates a long lasting record of everyone who was there, the speeches that were made, the networking that took place, the activities everyone took part in – but it also tells a story of your brand and what you were trying to achieve by hosting this event in the first place. 

You can share the images to advertise and promote future events internally or externally. If you’re celebrating your staff at a Christmas party or end of year function, these photographs boost morale and camaraderie when they’re shared amongst colleagues or attendees.

If an event is worth hosting, it’s worth photographing.

 

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM A documentary EVENT PHOTOGRAPHER

What to expect from your event photographer can vary greatly depending on the type of event you’re hosting and what you’re looking for from your photographs.

If you’re hosting a party or social event, you’re likely to receive images that show people mingling, having conversations, reacting to conversations and enjoying any food or beverages provided. If the event is hosted somewhere intentionally for people to interact with; for example, a museum or if there is some form of entertainment – that will also be captured. If any attendees ask for group photos, or you have a specific list in mind, you can always let me know and I’ll photograph that too. 

At a conference or an away day, there might still be activities or social portions of the day. But additionally, I would focus on capturing any speakers, panel discussions, attendees listening and asking questions. 

Wherever possible, an emphasis is made on capturing the brand hosting or company involved in the event. 

HOW LONG SHOULD YOU HIRE AN EVENT PHOTOGRAPHER FOR?

Have a think about how early you want your coverage from. Have you got some elaborate decor that you’d like photographed without any attendees there? If so, have me arrive an hour to half an hour before everyone else starts to arrive to capture the event before anyone interacts with the decor. 

Is there a party planned for afterwards, and do you think your guests would enjoy some of the late night festivities being captured? If so, consider extending my time there. 

The shortest coverage you can hire me for is 2 hours, but event depending, I can shoot all day, or over multiple days.

HOW MANY PHOTOS DO YOU GET FROM AN EVENT PHOTOGRAPHER?

On average you can expect 40 – 50 images per hour of coverage, dependent on what’s happening at the event. For example, if it’s a conference with long speeches you might have fewer images than a team away day with lots of activities. 

Images are delivered within 7-14 days via a private online gallery. If you require a handful of images urgently for PR or comms that can be arranged.

Base rates start at £370 for a minimum of two hours. Each additional hour is charged at £125. Depending on your event, I can tailor a personalised quote. 
 

WAYS TO MAXIMISE HIRING YOUR EVENT PHOTOGRAPHER

Depending on the type of event you’re hosting, we can discuss how to best maximise my time with you. For example, if you’re hosting an end of year party or a company wide event, it could be a good idea to combine this with company wide headshots that morning.
If your event happens to be a time where all the senior leadership team are together, it could be a great time to capture some group photos.
