PEMBROKE LODGE WEDDING
Pembroke Lodge is a listed, two story Georgian house in the heart of Richmond Park.
There are two wedding venue options; the Russell Suite and the Belvedere Suite.
It’s also the only licensed venue in a London Royal park and comes with access to the gorgeous gardens in Richmond Park, and a view over the Thames Valley – it’s honestly a perfect place to get married.
PEMBROKE LODGE WEDDING VENUE
Pembroke Lodge have been hosting weddings for over 50 years, and they’re so well set up to do so. They’ve created two venues within one (and you would never know that there’s another wedding happening at the same time as yours!), and both venues benefit from the beautiful Georgian house, and the surrounds.
Pembroke Lodge is licenced for both indoor and outdoor wedding ceremonies. If you’ve picked the Belvedere Suite, you could opt to have your wedding out on the terrace. Just bear in mind that no confetti is allowed outside. (But you could opt for ribbons or bubbles if you’d like!)
After getting married in either the Russell Suite or the Belvedere Suite or Terrace, you get a chance to escape just the two of you to the gorgeous grounds around the back, sides or front of the house. If it’s spring – the gorgeous wisteria at the front of the lodge will be in bloom.
There’s also a free car park for up to 200 cars – although you’ll be sharing that with other visitors to Richmond Park.

WHERE TO GET READY FOR A PEMBROKE LODGE WEDDING
Pembroke Lodge doesn’t offer on site accommodation, but you have so many options in nearby Richmond. Most of my couples opt to get ready at the Petersham or Richmond Hill Hotel which each allow for first looks or wedding photos at Richmond Hill viewing point and the Terrace Gardens that overlook the Thames.

THE RUSSELL SUITE
The Russell Suite is a Georgian room on the first floor of Pembroke Lodge. You can opt to have both your ceremony and reception here.
Your civil wedding ceremony can have up to 70 guests seated in theatre style, and your wedding ceremony will have to begin at either 1 or 1.30pm.
Your ceremony will be conducted by a registrar from the Richmond Registry Office (unless you’re opting for a celebrant led wedding), and if you’d like, you could throw confetti inside the venue as you exit.
After your ceremony, the team at Pembroke will turn the room around and get it ready for your reception. While that’s happening, you and all your guests can have drinks on the South Lawn, surrounded by greenery.
The great thing about this spot for drinks is that you can have your family and couples photos outside to the front and side of the house.
The Russell Suite has capacity for 70 seated guests for dinner, and up to 100 evening guests for your dancing. (Keep in mind that you only have the venue until 11pm).
Oh and there’s also a private bar with excellent views of the Thames Valley!
THE BELVEDERE AT PEMBROKE LODGE
The Belvedere is a purpose built wedding venue at Pembroke Lodge, and is the bigger of the two venues, and comes with a terrace!
Both the terrace and the Belvedere are licensed for your wedding ceremony to take place. Your ceremony will be conducted by a registrar from Richmond Registry Office.
Because Pembroke Lodge often has two weddings taking place on site, your wedding ceremony at the Belvedere will take place at either 3 or 3.30pm.
If you’re having your ceremony on the terrace, your guests can enjoy the view over the Thames Valley, but remember that confetti isn’t allowed.
If you’ve chosen to have your wedding in the Belvedere, you can fit up to 140 guests, and after your ceremony, guests can enjoy the terrace for drinks.
The Belvedere pulls double duty and will be your reception venue too, for 140 guests. One of the nicest things in the Belvedere is the large windows that allow the light in, and the view to be seen during dinner and speeches.
If you want, you could have up to 200 guests for your evening party, but remember that everything needs to wind down by midnight.
WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY AT PEMBROKE LODGE
You are SO spoilt for choice when getting married at Pembroke Lodge. Not only are the venues full of natural light, but you really get the best of so many worlds with your wedding photography.
The front gardens make for the perfect spot for your family photos, and the front of Pembroke Lodge is always a dream backdrop (fingers crossed for wisteria in bloom!).
If you’ve got time, we can go wandering around the gardens at Richmond Park looking for beautiful pockets of colourful flowers. And later on, you can sneak out of your wedding reception to walk down towards the Thames Valley for dramatic photos taken from above.
And if you’d like, it’s always a treat to include a pit stop at the Richmond Hill Viewing Point at some point during the day.
