LONDON, the U.K. & BEYOND
Hi! I’m Micaela
I’m a documentary lifestyle & wedding photographer living in London. I buy too many plants, squeal when I see dachshunds and have never met a cheese I didn’t like.
I believe most things can be solved with tea, popcorn and watching The Office. And I believe weddings are just love stories wrapped up into a single day. Let’s tell yours.
After 6 years as a wedding photographer I’ve seen so many different celebrations all over the world - garden ceremonies with 5 people, breakfast receptions that ended at 2pm, New Year’s Eve weddings, quiet city hall affairs and parties that nearly brought tents down!!
What I’ve learnt is that each wedding is most wonderful when it stays true and authentic to the couple. And that’s what I’m after; emotional, authentic reminders of your wedding and your relationship.
I’m not into trends, poses or props. I’m into couples who know what they have. The ones who can’t help but beam with joy on the day they commit to a lifetime of friendship. If that’s you, then scroll on…
With my background in documentary street photography, I always let things unfold naturally in front of my camera, keeping an eye out for beautiful light, interesting composition and above all - emotion. But there will also be times where I’ll give you a little bit of direction - so you don’t have to worry about what to do with your hands or whether you’re in the best light.
If you look at the couples on this website, you’ll see that my priority on the day is telling their story. The university sweethearts who’d travelled the world together, the women that had to wait until it was legal for them to marry, the couple who searched for forty years to find each other and the brother that couldn’t be there but his presence was so deeply felt.
When we work together, I’m not thinking about whether the photographs I take will go viral or be perfect for a blog post. I’m focussed on you, your story, your celebration, your personality and making sure that’s showing up in the images I’m taking.
Because years from now these images will be able to take you right back to that time, that moment and that feeling.
