Rose & Chris had the perfect Auchen Castle wedding! Their wedding took place on a Monday in a gorgeous Scottish castle surrounded by just 20 of their closest and most favourite people. Their wedding included rainbow touches throughout the day and a sweet first look, They even braved the weather for some gorgeous photos and the worlds’ most stage directed smoke bomb photograph!
Weddings at Auchen Castle
Because they were having an intimate wedding, Auchen Castle was the perfect place! It made it easy to host all of their family & friends for a special weekend. Rose got ready in one corner of the castle while, Chris was in another. They met up in the middle, on the stairs for an emotional first look.
They had their ceremony in the ceremony room with a local registrar officiating (all weddings sound better officiated with a Scottish accent!). Their guests enjoyed drinks in the bar, and spent the evening running around all the nooks and crannies of the castle.
Rose, Chris and I braved the freezing cold to take some photographs on the castle grounds. It’s such an incredible venue, that you really don’t have to go very far to take beautiful photographs. We used the gardens, inside the garden, and made the most of the gorgeous view. Later in the evening, we used some smoke bombs to get an amazing night time shot using the castle in the background.
Rose & Chris’s marriage was just fated from the very beginning. She’s Australian and described Chris as ‘a full English breakfast’ in their first email to me (which is when I first knew I had to photograph them). They met in the UK while she was touring with a circus show, he followed her back to Australia and it’s been love ever since.
These two were my definition of doing your wedding your way. Rose & Chris, you two are just the best of friends. I’m so honoured that you let me into your little world for a little while.
